“Unfinished Business” for Alex Healy in 2012

May 16, 2012

Ottawa, ON - Alex Healy Racing returns to Mosport this weekend to attend to some unfinished business. After a disappointing 2011, AHR is back to prove it can compete, finish and win in 2012.

"It was back to the drawing board for us," says Alex Healy who will be competing in his fourth year in the CTCC series in Super Touring. "We addressed every single item on our car, starting with the bolts and have re-built our RSX from the ground up."
Alex Healy competed in 7 events in 2011 and had DNFs in 7 of the 14 races. "We broke two trannies, blew up an engine and had some other mechanical issues," says 2012 crew chief, Joffrey Louis-Seize. "We're back, we're better and we are determined to finish in every event."

At the hub of the #5 Super Touring class AHR Acura RSX power plant is a completely new engine and improved transmission, with tuning by AE Campeau of Gatineau. "This is the best and most reliable engine we have ever installed, and we have very high expectations for its performance and reliability," says Louis-Seize. "JF Campeau has done a great job- now it's up to us to go and race."

Louis-Seize is returning this year but in a new role as Crew Chief, replacing Tyler Givogue who has moved on to Porsche Racing with Speed Merchants. Tyler remains with AHR as a trusted friend and consultant. Joining the team for the first time is engineer Jamie Leveille who has an extensive racing resume. Jamie is in charge of chassis tuning and aerodynamics. Newcomer Nic Deguire of Gatineau is an experienced car builder and mechanic and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Also new is rookie Felix Lamy, also of Gatineau, looking for his first experience on the big CTCC stage.

Gastops (gastops.com) of Ottawa is back to support Alex Healy Racing. "Alex and his team embody what we like to see in our much larger team- great engineering, solid competition and professional conduct on and off the track," say President and CEO Dave Muir. "We will be cheering from the sidelines and are expecting a great series again with CTCC. We know Alex has what it takes to win, and wish him and his capable team all the best of luck."

"Good car, good team, great series: we are ready to prove we can run at the front and win," says Alex Healy confidently. "And it all starts this weekend- we are really excited to be back, but more determined than ever to finish- and push hard for the Championship."
